How the calculator works
The calculator looks up your Riot ID with the official Riot Games API, reads your summoner level and counts the games in your recent match history.
Riot only keeps the last few months of matches, so your lifetime playtime is estimated from your level: reaching level 30 takes around 150 games, and every level after that takes roughly 12 more. Each game is counted with about 30 minutes, the average length of a League of Legends match.
Thousands of hours, but not the rank you want?
You are not alone – many players spend years in the same division. These are the fastest ways to get more out of your time. More background is in our guide on how much time you have wasted on LoL.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Wasted on LoL calculator work?
It looks up your Riot ID with the official Riot Games API, counts the games in your recent match history and estimates your lifetime games from your summoner level. Each game is counted with about 30 minutes, the average length of a League of Legends match.
Why is my playtime only an estimate?
Riot only keeps the last few months of match history, so older games cannot be counted one by one. Your summoner level still shows how much you have played overall, which is why the lifetime number is estimated from it.
Is it safe to enter my Riot ID?
Yes. A Riot ID is public, the calculator only reads public profile data, and it never asks for your password.
Does the calculator count ARAM, Arena and normal games?
The recent match count includes every League of Legends queue that Riot stores in your match history, including ranked, normals, ARAM and Arena. TFT is not included.
